DR. RONALD ADELMAN
TRAINED AT THE
DETROIT MEDICAL CENTER
Dr. Ronald Adelman is a native of Monroeville, Ohio (near Cedar Point) where he grew up playing football, baseball and basketball. He earned his undergraduate degree at Ohio University; then he entered medical school in Cleveland, Ohio.
He moved to the Detroit area for his surgical residency which consisted of a wide range of podiatric, orthopedic, trauma and plastic surgery rotations, as well as advanced medical rotations, at the Detroit Medical Center. After completion of his extensive residency training, he assumed ownership of Associates in Podiatry of Michigan. When his residency was completed, he had the rare opportunity to provide patient care as one of the staff physicians at the Orthopedic Trauma Clinic at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He is also part of the Orthopedic Institute of Michigan at Saint Mary Mercy Hospital.
Currently starting a new podiatric surgical residency at Saint Mary Mercy Hospital, he has been named the program’s residency director. He received the highest possible level of Board Certification by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Certifications include Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. These certifications require extensive documentation of his successful surgical cases and rigorous oral exams by the nation's top doctors. Dr. Adelman is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS) and a member of MPMA, the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association.
He divides his free time between his family, competitive running, recreational golf and home improvements/house restoration.
DR. VANESSA (BODNAR) ADELMAN
Dr. Vanessa (Bodnar) Adelman is a native of Plymouth, Michigan where she participated in softball, track and cross country running at Salem High School. She earned her undergraduate degree at the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University, having been awarded an academic scholarship. She then attended medical school in Cleveland, Ohio on an academic scholarship.
After completing four years of medical school, she returned to the Detroit area for her surgical residency, where she had the distinction of being named chief resident during her senior year. Her training consisted of extensive surgical cases including podiatry, orthopedics, pediatrics, plastic surgery, general and vascular surgery rotations, as well as advanced medical rotations. Following completion of her residency training at Providence Hospital and Medical Center, she joined Associates in Podiatry of Michigan. She is a member of MPMA, the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association and the American College for Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).
Dr. Vanessa Adelman is also actively involved in medical research and has published three papers which have helped revolutionalize flatfoot surgery techniques. She specializes in foot reconstruction surgery, bunion surgery, cosmetic techniques and athletic injuries.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and two dogs. She runs competitively and often brings her daughter and dogs along on her marathon training runs. In her spare time, she also works with Dr. Ronald on house restoration.
